Kwik’s Parent Company Declared Bankrupt

The parent of Nigerian logistics startup Kwik has been declared bankrupt by an Amsterdam court. This follows a legal battle with a former executive that left the company with a $50,000 debt it failed to resolve.

While it’s not yet clear how this affects Kwik’s local operations in Nigeria, the judgment raises serious concerns about the company’s financial structure and international obligations. Find out more here

NCC Orders Transparency on Telecom Outages

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) now requires all telecom providers to publicly announce major service outages, detailing causes, affected areas, and expected restoration times. Planned outages must be communicated at least a week in advance.

If outages last over 24 hours, providers must offer compensation like service extensions. This move aims to boost transparency, improve service quality, and protect consumers.
